    Plessy vs. Ferguson
    This act as for the equal rights for rail road passengers.
  • Pearsall Plan

    Pearsall Plan
    The United States Supreme Court’s ruling in the Brown v Board of Education (1954) declared racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional. Following the Brown ruling, North Carolina enacted legislation that undermined the Supreme Court ruling.
  • Little Rock Nine

    Little Rock Nine
    The little rock nine were nine African Americans in high school. President Eisenhower , demanded National Guard to keep the blacks out of school. He then closed the schools so that African Americans were forced to go to school out of state. Then in the fall of 1959 the Board of Education reopened the schools and four of the little rock nine returend protected by police.
  • Arrest of Rosa Parks

    Arrest of Rosa Parks
    Rosa Parks was arrested on December 1, 1955, she was sitting on a bus in Mongomery, Alabama. A white person told her that she needed to get up and she would not get up so the bus driver called the cops. The first 10 rows on the bus were resevered for white people only , but Rosa Parks was sitting in the Eleventh row so she really wasnt breaking the law. The arrest of Rosa Parks lead to a Boycott.

    The Greensboro sit in
    Durin the Greensburo sit in 4 African American boys sat at a bar in a all white resurant. They were trying to make the resturant intergraded so that all whites and blacks could eat there if they wanted to. Eventually the owner made the resturant desegragated and many other restuarnts followed. The company said that if they wanted to they could be segragated but after they sat in there with other blacks taking shifts.
