Cold war
The Cold War was a war between the united states and the soviet union. The reason they call it the cold war was because they never really got into a real fight. The closest the U.S. got to fight the Soviet Union was in the Cuban Missile Crisis. The reason the cold war started was because the S.U. and the U.S. wanted to see who was more powerful. It started during WW2 on Aug. 6 1945 after Truman ordered the drop of the atomic bomb.

Essie's was born.
On May 2nd 1949 Essie was born. -
The Korean War
The Korean War started in 1950 and ended in 1953. It was a fight between North Korean and South Korean, communist and non communist. About 5,720,000 U.S. soliders were in the war. 33,741 America dealths in the battle. -
First day of school.
Sepemebr, 8th 1953 was Essie's first day of school. -
First color television
On January 1, 1954 the first national color television was broadcasted. But, for about ten years most networks continued to play in black in white. It wasn't till the mid 60s till all shows became in color. -
Brown vs. Board of education
The Brown vs. Board of education was period of time when segation was around. Which 13 parents were trying to make change in schools. They tried to enroll their kids in a "white school" but they was turned down. So, the parents decided to do a law suit against the school. Then after three years the court agreed with Linda Brown. -
Rosa parks
Demcember 1st 1955 Rosa Parks sat on a bus in the black section of the bus . THen as the white section filled she was asked to move for a white man who just came on the bus. She refused and got arressted. Which led to the Bus Boycott. -
President Kennedy,
President JFK was born May 29, 1917, Brookline, MA. President Kennedy was swore in on Januaray 20th, 1961. He was part of the Democratic Party. Soon he bacame the 35th president. Also he was the youngest to be president and the youngest to die. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis was the closet we ever got to having a Nuclear War. It was started by two countries in 1962. One was the Soviet Nikita Khrushchev was scared by the fact that the US had nuclear missiles. -
Graduated high school
Sometime in June Essie graduated highschool. -
Martin Luther King Jr, assassination.
On April, 4th 1968 Martin Luther King was assassinated by James Earl Ray. Mlk was hit by a sniper bullet while he was standing on a baloncy of a motel. He was rushed to the hopsital but, by 7:06pm he was dead. -

Their frist home
Janurary 2nd they bought their first home togather. -
My grandparents got married
My Grandma got married on march 19th 1972. -
Her first born.
Her first born (chuck) was born on Januaray 9th 1973. -
Second child.
On Januaray 17th 1975 he second child (my father). (Sidney). -
Last child
Augest 22nd 1978 her third and fine child was born. ( my uncle Devon.) -
10th Aniversary.
March 1982 was my grandparents 10th aniversary. -
Malcolm X
Malcolm x believed that African Americans should be able to have civil rights even if they had to fight for them. If that meant that they had to use violence they would. He was the leader of the Nation of Islam, a group that believed African Americans should form a separate nation from white Americans. But, he was killed in 1965 in a meeting in New York City.
