    Mark is at his local climbing gym and he meets Geoff Tabin, a doctor who has climbed all over the world, including Everest. They start talking and become friends. This leads to Geoff giving him avice on climbing and helping him find and fund Mark's trips.

    Mark goes on a trip to Mount Crawford in Rockingham County, Virginia. He goes with Frank, who is a good friend of his aunt, and is also 77 years old! They have a good time climbing and Mark doesa good job for his first mountain.

    3 days after they set off from base camp, Mark, Javier, Butthead, César, and two helpers summit Huascaran in Peru. Mark is the youngest climber to ever summit this mountain and it is the tallest mountain he has ever climbed in his climbing career.
