    Brown v. Board of Education
    Brown v. Board of education They focused on graduated schools. It affected only a small number of people. For the African Americans these where always inferior schools. Also led to segregation in public schools. The court declared state laws estableshing speration of school with the color studetns.
  • Emmitt Till

    Emmitt Till
    Emmett Till was a young black boy. He had talked to a white woman inside of a small store.Once he had told her "hello" the white women had left the area. Emmitt had went down to the south to his family. Next day two white men had beaten severy times and was kille.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    Montgomery Bus Boycott
    Buss Boycott The Bus Boycott tock place when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. The bus driver had told her to get up and move to the back of the bus but she refused. The bus came to a stop and the driver called the police. Rosa Parks got arrested for nt giving up her seat.
  • Little Rock

    There where nine African American students who were allowed to go to a school where it was for white students only. The nine students where assinged a personal soilders to walk them to every class during the day. These nine students where insulted troughout the day.
  • Sitt-Ins

    Sitt-Ins
    A group of students went to a dinner and sat on the counters and the white people would refused them service. This group of African American did not move from their spot and just sat there the whole time. They were pushed around to see if they would move but they resisted to stay seated. At the end of this sit-in they were all arrested and taken to jail.
  • Freedom Ride

    Freedom Ride
    Freedom Rider Members of the CORE decided to draw attention to the situation by sending a group of freedom riders. The African Americans sat down in the waiting rooms and tried to use the facility. They got arersted and taken to jail.
  • " Bull" Connor

    " Bull" Connor
    "Bull" Connor was a commisioner of public safty and was elected six times. When riots broke out the fire department was called in to spray down the riots.

    Martin Luther King when to jail like any ohter African American. On his time in jail he read the New York times newspaper. There was an article about him on that newspaper that descriminated him. He wrote a letter to the New York Times about the artile they wrote about him and that is was a discrimination.

    3 Civil Rights Workers Murdered
    Civil workers murdered The three went missing one day and their was a big search. They found them buried in a dam and shot by a 35 caliber bullet. Nobody was charged for the crim, so nobody was punished.
  • Selma

    Selma The African Americans took a march down to Selma and protested. They where marching to get to Alabama to gow out their voting rights. They had started the American Civil Rights Mmovement. They attempted several marches to Alabama.
