  • Russian Communist Revolution

    Russian Communist Revolution
    The Russian Communist Revolution took place during the end of WWI. Created the USSR, which formed the worlds first communist state. This connects to the cold war because it is the start of communism.
  • Treaty of Versailes

    Treaty of Versailes
    Created at the end of WWI, the Treaty of Versailes created for the purpose of maintaining peace. The treaty placed all blame and war debts on Germany which in turn sent them into a depression. Since the country was struggling East Germany fell to communsim while West Germany was democratic. This relates to the cold war because of the spread of communism.

    Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin met in Russia to dicuss future progress of the war and the post-war world.

    Berlin Airlift
    East Berlin put a blockade on anyone trying to get into or dropping off supplies to West Berlin. The U.S. decided to drop supplies off by air craft.
