The plessy vs ferguson case is black mixed man who is plessy. Plessy refused to give up his seat even though he was supposed to sit with the blacks so technically the white seat is not his seat because he was not directed to seat there and since he refused to give up his seat he was jailed. Ferguson is a judge who said that if the train provided seperate but equal seats then plessy's rights were protected.
