    In the year of 1981, Michael started his first tv show called Leo and Me. The tv show was about Leo winning a yacht in a poker game, and had taken his orphaned nephew Jamie to live with him.
    Unfortunately, Leo and Me only lasted 13 weeks but Michael cought the acting bug because that was when his career took off!

    In 1982, Michael got the role of playing Alex P. Keaton on NBC. Family ties is about a couple who were political activists in the sixties face the problems of raising a family with children who have very strong conservative views.

    On July 3th, 1985 Back to the future was released in the USA. Michael played the art of Marty McFly. This was also the first movie of the "Back to the future" trilogy. In the film, Marty McFly travels back in time and accidently prevents his mom and dad from marrying which puts his existence at risk.

    In the year of 1988, Michael Fox married his co-star Tracy Pollen from the sitcom "Family Ties'. Michael and Tracy have four children (Aquinnah, Schuyler, Sam and Esme).

    In 1991, Michael was diagnosed with a tragic disease known as Parkinson disease which affects the central nervous system. Due to the media, Michael hid his secret up until 1998 when he told the public.

    The "Michael J. Fox Foundation" is dedicated to finding a cure to Pakinson's disease. This foundation has since become the largest private funder of Parkinson's disease in the whole entire worid, investing nearly $179 million in reasearch to date.

    Last year, Michael received the Order of Canada from the Governor General, David Johnson at the Rideau Hall Ceremony. He was awarded for his amazing foundation to fight Parkinson's disease and his contribution to television and film work.
