    Mexican peasants, upset with what they believe is unequal distribution of money and power, start a revolution against the Mexican government and President Porfirio Diaz.

  • Discrimination

    The case was called the "Zoot Suit Riots." Zoot suits were the fad at the time.They had baggy pants with tight ankles and long jackets with wide shoulders. Mexican American Teenagers wore them. Sailors on leave from the ship hired taxi's and searched for Zoot suits. And then they beat the young men in the Zoot suits and told the police they didn't do anything.

    In 1965, the federal government inacted a new immigration law. The new law set a limit of 120,000 immigrants per year from the western hemisphere and 170,000 from the eastern hemisphere.The new law was a great benfit many new immigrants.
