  • Francisco Madero wrote his Plan of San Luis Potosi.

    He told people to gather arms and go to war gainst their dictator. The battles between the supporters of Madero (called Maderistas) started November 17. After a long series of battles throughout Mexico, the Maderistas were victorious. After removing Diaz from the government in 1911, Madero was an insuffiecient leader. He outraged many of the lower classes in his army by keeping many of Diaz's policies. He only changed the electoral process.
  • Madero was killed by his own general.

    Due to his weakness in being a leader and because he angered the lower classes, Madero was killed.
  • Victoriano Huerta, ruled from 1914 to 1916

    He supported many of the policies created by Madero. Many people viewed him as power hungry. He was succeeded by Carranza who was another revolutionary. Ruled until he was driven out by Villa and Zapata.
  • War for power destroyed the economy.

    The war destroyed plantations and many of the soldiers had to leaves their farms in order to fight.
  • Years of powerless reign due to competition for power

  • Battles and Wars over by 1929.

    The revolution end is debated but all battles and wars were over by this time.
  • Election of the Cardenas

    This is believed to be the end of the revolution. Argrarian reforms were executed so that land was returned to the lower classes. Developed a formal education system.
