He was born on 1793 and was the leader of the Long epedition he joined the united states army to serve as a surgeon in the war of 1812. In 1817 he was associated with w.w walker in the merchanandisina business. He went to mexico city in march 1822 to plead his case before agustin de turbide. But on government april 8 1822 he was shot and killed by a guard.
