Maryland is founded as a Colony
Cecil Calvert, 2nd Lord of Baltimore, inherited the land from his father, who was issued a Royal charter by King Charles. They named it Maryland after the Kings Wife. -

On April 28, 1788, Maryland is ratified into the Union as the 7th state. The capital is Baltimore, in renegotiation of its founder, Lord Baltimore. -

In 1822, Amirta Ross was born as a slave. She would later marry John Tubman, and change her name to Harriet after she escaped from her plantation. She would become one of the most recognized american heroes for freeing more than 300 slaves, and help in during the Civil War. -

The famous assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was born on May 10, 1838. He was a famous actor that would later kill the iconic Abraham Lincoln. -
Maryland secedes from the Union
Maryland seceded from the union in 1861. Although they seceded, they did not become a Confederate State, they are one of the four border states. -
Babe Ruth becomes one of the best baseball players of all time
George Herman "Babe" Ruth played Major League Baseball for 21 years. He was prospected as pitcher, and later became one the best sluggers ever. He is known for "The Called Shot"; Babe pointed to straight away center, and hit a home run to that exact spot the next pitch.
