    Jr. delivers the first national address at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington.
  • Meeting

    Jr. meets with President Eisenhower in Washington with other fellow civil rights leaders.
  • The Move

    King decides to move from Alabama to Atlanta to further the focus on the Civil Rights Movement.
  • The Arrest

    The Arrest
    King was arrested at a sit-in demonstration in Atlanta and was sentenced to four months of hard labor.
  • Letter from a Birmingham Jail

    King was arrested for ignoring the state court. During his time in jail, he wrote the famous Letter from a Birmingham Jail which was a nonviolent resistance to the racist acts that were going on.
  • "I Have A Dream"

    "I Have A Dream"
    King delivered the famous "I Have A Dream" speech prior to the March on Washington.
  • Lorianne Motel

    King was shot and killed at the Lorianne Motel. He was then later buried in Atlanta.
