The '95 Theses' was one of the biggest actions Luther did in the protest against the Churches ways. The 95 Theses was a document that critiqued the ways of the church. It focused on critisizing the giving of indulgences and what the Church was doing with its power.

Luther goes to the Diet of Augsburg where he was demanded by Cardinal Cajetan to recant his view on the Church. He was to recant what he had said in the 95 Theses and about the indulgences. He refuses to do so and after three days of interviewing he leaves Ausberg.

Luther burns the Papal Bull in public in Witternburg. The Bull was sent from the pope. The bull said that if Luther did not take back his oppinions on the Church that he wrote in the 95 theses, he would be excommunicated by the Church.

Luther was excommunicated in Rome by the Church because he did not recant his oppinions on what the Church was doing. Excommunicated means to exclude someone officially to take part in anything to do with the Roman Catholic Church. This still didn't stop him for standing up to what he believed was right.

At the Diet of Worms Luther went to a hearing with Electoy Fredrick III the wise. There he was safe, for the time being, from being executed. Fredrick III the wise agreed with Luther's oppinions and wanted to help protect him. Though Fredrick did not want to get in trouble with the Church he still helped keep Luther safe.
