    Luther was invited to Worms by the emperor. The church and emperor wanted him to recant his teachings while he was there. His journey to Worms was more of a victory march. He was welcomed and cheered on by people. They asked for his advice on things. Along the way, he preached in Erfurt, Gotha and Eisenach.

    He was knidnapped by some of Frederick's horseman, and taken to Wartburg Castle. Frederick was one of Luther's freinds, and Luther asked him to kidnap him. He planned to stay at Wartburg castle for a year. During his time in hiding, he grew a beard, and disguised himself as a knight. He spent his time secretly translating the Bible into German.
