    While traveling back to the university from his parents' home, Luther was caught in a really bad thunderstorm. Almost hit by some lightening, he cried to patron saint of miners: "Help me, St. Anne, and I'll become a monk!" Luther escaped unharmed, and being true to his word, entered a monastery within a month.
