    Marie Sklodowska-Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland on November 7, 1867.
    I chose this scientist because I identify with her gender.

    At age 15, Curie's dad taught her math and science being a teacher of them both himself which sparked her interest. her mom also played a role in her success. Her two main fields of study are physics and chemistry. Physics is a branch of science having to do with the nature and properties of matter and energy. Chemistry is the science of the composition, structure, properties, and reactions of matter, especially of atomic and molecular systems.

    Discovery of 2 Elements
    Curie discovered the elements radium and polonium in 1898. Before this scientist started her work in science, knowledge was very limited. She has benefitted these two fields greatly, and her work has led to awareness of cancer and other internal diseases. Although the discovery was considered a success, Marie Curie failed to realize the dangers of radium.

    At the time of Curie's work, there was a democratic government and one big problem was corruption. A big musician that was working the same time as Marie Curie was Julia Howe. People were judged mostly by gender back then. Because of this, Curie wasn't let into the Russian-Polish Establishment
