  • Battle of France

    Battle of France
    This battle lead up to the evaporation of the Western Front during early and middle WWII. German troops, using Blitzkrieg, successfully captured Paris, making France fall. Nazi Germany, without a France to worry about, would then be able to focus it's whole attention on Britain and the Soviet Union.
  • Miracle of Dunkirk

    Miracle of Dunkirk
    After the loss at Paris, Nazi troops closed in fast on the harbor city of Dunkirk, in which troops had to be hastily evacuated, but the Nazis were everywhere. While this battle seemed one sided and easy to win, the troops were successfully evacuated and were no longer in the way of Nazi Germany.
  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
    The Battle of Britain was a major Air Force battle during World War One, involving the British and Canadian air forces, against the German air force known as "Luftwaffe" and the Italian air force. While the Germans and Italians had a larger number of troops than the allies, the Allies had tactical advantages and strategies that ultimately lead to an allied victory.
  • Battle of Leningrad

    Battle of Leningrad
    Nazi soldiers, looking to overtake Russia, put a siege on Leningrad. The siege lasted for months and had brutal casualties on both sides, but ultimately resulted in the Soviets taking back Leningrad and lifting the siege on the city.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    One of the deadliest battles in World War Two that lead to extreme civilian and military casualties on both sides. Though it was Stalingrad that was under siege, the German troops were wiped out to the point that troops had to be moved from the western front to the eastern front to fight the Soviets, who would soon start moving towards Germany.
  • Operation Torch

    Operation Torch
    Operation Torch was the first major American offensive in Europe. Allied troops landed in French Africa and took hold of the weak Italian and German soldiers stationed there. This took pressure off of the Soviet Union, as it prompted Germany and Italy to send their troops to Africa.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    On the shores of five Normandy beaches, allied troops go out into the middle of Axis fire, in a battle that would change the course of the war. There are five divisions, one Canadian, two British, and two American. It is estimated that ten thousand allied troops died on D-Day, and that about four thousand Nazi/Axis troops died as well. In addition, warships and planes were destroyed.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    In a surprise attack on the same forests that had made Germany lose World War One, the Germans took the Allied Forces stationed there by surprise and managed to nearly wipe them out. However, after days of battling, the Allied Troops took out the Germans and made them retreat. This would become the last major offensive from Nazi Germany.
  • Battle of Berlin

    Battle of Berlin
    The Soviet Union breaches Nazi Germany's capital, forcing Germany to surrender later on in May. The victory was decisive and distinct, with the Soviets easily wiping out the German army and Garrison. Later on, after Germany surrenders, the Soviet Union would keep it's occupancy in Germany, resulting in the East/West Berlin division.
