    Roosevelt and Churchill agreed that there priorities were ridding the Atlantic of German U-boats, sending all possible aid to the Soviets, increasing the strategic bombing campaign against Germany, preparing for the 1944 cross-channel invasion of Frace, capturing Sicily after the North African campaign, and taking offensive opportunities against Japan as they rose.
  • Capture of Guadalcanary

    After bitter ground combat and spectacular naval battles, the marines captured Guadalcanal in Feburary 1943. They secured the Solomon Islands by years end.
  • Mediterranean Sea Secured and Base in Italy

    Afte the Allies defeated the Afrika Korps in Tunisia, they attacked Sicily. The island then secured the Mediterranean Sea for shipping and created a base in Italy.

    General Bernard Montgomery (Britain) and his forces engage Rommel in Egyp and begin pusing back.
  • Discussed Invasion of France

    Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met in Tehran, Iran. To discuss how the invasion of France was a threat.
  • Bombing Improved

    The allies eventually discovered that bombing specific targets, or pinpoint bombing, was dificult in daylight and impossible at night. They begain dropping bombs over a more wide spread area.
  • Attack France

    Roosevelt and Churchill notified Stalin that they would attack France no later than May 1944.
  • D-Day

    This was the day the Allies would invade France. Extreme security procedure were taken.
  • Liberated France

    2 million allie troops were in france and they had liberated Paris.
  • Battle of Leyte Gulf

    The largest naval battle of all time. We crippled the Japanese fleet. This helped severely weaken Japan's military strength and helped us move even close to Japan itself.
