The three witches meet Macbeth and Banquo while the two are on their way to king`s court. The witches tell Macbeth he will become Thane of Cawdor, and they also declare that Macbeth will be king one day. They tell Banquo that he will never be king, but that his children will rise to the throne. The generals run into Ross, who tells the that Macbeth has been declared Thane of Cawdor because the former thane was executed for treason.

Duncan thanks the generals for their heroism in battle. Duncan declares that Malcolm will be the heir to his throne. Macbeth realizes that Malcolm is what stands between him and the throne. Plans are made for Duncan to dine at Macbeth`s castle that night, so Macbeth warns his wife of the kings arrival.

The events during the play of Macbeth

Lady Macbeth recieves a letter from her husband telleng her of the news. She feels that killing Duncan will make her queen. She is willing to persuade her husband to do whatever to seize the crown. She tells Macbeth that she has a plan and that Duncan will die tonite. Meanwhile, Duncan arrives at the castle with his scottish lords.

MAcbeth cannot find a reason to kill Duncan other than his own ambiton, but his wife convinces him to do so. Lady Macbeth tells MAcbeth her plan for the murder and he agrees.

Macduff discovers Duncan`s corpse. Lady MAcbeth faints. MAcbeth says he killed the chamberlins because of anger from seeing Duncan killed. Malcolm says he will move to England and Donalbain declares he will move to Ireland because they are not safe. NOw Macbeth has been named king of Scotland.

Lady Macbeth gets the chamberlins drunk so they stay asleep. MAcbeth then kills duncan while he is asleep and blood is smeared all over the chamberlins and a dagger placed with them

Banquo says to Macbeth that if youur prophecy came true maybe mine will as well.Macbeth now thinks he must kill Banquo and Fleance to stop his heir from rising to the throne. MAcbeth hires murderers that are planning to kill Banquo and his son when they arrive to the feast. Banquo is killed but Fleance escapes.

MAcbeth sees Banquos ghost sitting in his chair at the feast. He starts to freak out and Lady Macbeth tells everyone that sometimes he just has these visions

Macduff is trying to get aid from the English king and join up with Malcolm to take back the crown and Scotland. News of this makes Macbeth realize he has to prepare for war.

Macbeth goes to the witches again, who give him 3 more prophecies- Beware Macduff, nobody born from woman will ever harm Macbeth, Macbeth will never be defeated until Brinam Wood marches to fight him at Dunsinane hill.

A doctor and a servant spot Lady Macbeth walking in her sleep. She seems to be washing her hands, trying to get blood off them. She then reads the letter MAcbeth sent her awhile ago and she kills herself.

Macduff`s army prepares for battle and marches to Macbeth`s castle. They cut down trees from the forest of Birnam wood as camoflage so Macbeth doesn`t see how many men they have. This is part of the prophecy that says Macbeth will be defeated.

MAcbeth knows that nobody of woman born can harm him so he asks the soldiers who is not of woman born. Macduff answers yes and he begans to fight MAcbeth till the death. Macduff wins and beheads Macbeth.

Now that MAcbeth is now dead, Malcolm as risen to the throne and Scotland can go back to its old ways.
