    The signing of the Treaty of Versailles
    This was the end of World War 1. The allied powers came up with the document but with little help from people of Germany. It stated all of Germany's restrictions. For example, they stripped Germany of all its colonies, it reduced Germany's army and prohibited them from having certain weapons. It also made Germany responsible for WW1 and made them pay all reparations. this is important because Germany leader had no say in it.

    Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany
    This marked a turning point for German and the whole world. He wanted to unify Germany and make it a one-party state. He began working immediately, ordered more state police. This is is important because this is how the riegn of hitler began.

    Opening of First Nazi Concentration Camp
    Dachau Camp, the first regular concentration camp established by the Nazis. It was officially described as the first concentration camp for political leaders. The first year it was open it helps about 4,800 prisoners and initially was for German communist, Social democrats, Trade Unionists, and other political opponents of the Nazi regime. Over time they also included Jehovah's Witnesses, gypsies and homosexuals. This is an imoortant event because this was the begining for millions of deaths.

    The Nuremberg Race Laws
    These laws denied Jews from German citizenship and limited their rights as society members. Jews were not allowed to mary people who were considered German. If Jews broke these laws they were imprisoned or sent to hard labor camps. These laws were important becasue this is were the seperation of jews began, when the discrimination against them began.

    First Experimental Use of Gas Chambers at Auschwitz
    They used Hydrogen Cyanide in the form of Zyklon B, they used 800 Soviet POWS and 250 prisoners who were sick and no longer able to work. Marked the beginning of millions of deaths with the use of gas chambers.

  • Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor

    Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor
    The attack happened on the morning of December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese planed attacked the base. The attack caused major destruction. It destroyed or damaged nearly 20 navy vessels, 8 battleships, and over 300 airplanes. Killed 2,400 people and injured 1,000. President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war against Japan. This event is important because this is the event that made the United State go into WW2.

    Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    On August 6, 1945, the first ever atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima. It caused thousands of casualties and wiped out 90% of the city. The bomb in Hiroshima caused 80,000 lives immediately and over 10,00 later died because of the exposure to radiation. 2 days later the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing over 40,000 people. This event is important because Japan Emperor finally surrenders World War 2.
