    Greyhound refuses to take on the freedom riders anymore. SNCC activists pick up were CORE left off bus driver refuses to take Freedom riders so they occupy white waiting room for 18 hours until Robert Kennedy calls to resolve issue the riders continue. After a grizzly meating in Montgomery with no police intervention causes Federal Marshalls to protect the buses during their journey. Caused ban of segregation in all interstate travel facilities

    Voting Rights Act of 1965 goes into effect
    congress passes the act eliminating the literacy test that made many voters inelligable. Allowed federal examiners to enroll voters who had been denied suffrage by local officials.increased the number of African American voters by 50%. African American Voters tripled in the south.
