On the 1st of September, 1939, Hitler invades Poland once reassured that Britain and France would continue ignoring his actions with appeasement. Germany launched air attacks with the element of surpise, nearly 20,000 Polish civilians were killed in total.

Britain and France had swore to defend Poland during Hitler's invasion of it, they decided to honour these obligiations rather than use appeasement once more. They demanded Hitler to withdraw from Poland and when no response was giver Chamberlain declared that Britain was at war with Germany. This unfortunately did not benefit Poland, on the 17th of September Poland was no longer a country.

After Chamberlain failed to save Poland or Norway from German occupation he lost followers and respect from his supporters. On the 10th of May, 1940, Chamberlain lost his place as the Prime Minister of Britain, Churchill, an admired military leader became Prime Minister on the same day.

Operation Barbarossa was a more discreet codename for Nazi Germany's plan of invading the Soviet Union in 1941. Germany was successful in occupying parts of the Soviet Union, mainly based in Ukraine. The attack (and bombing) of Pearl Harbour was a surprise attack mission from the Japanese Imperial Navy angainst the navy of the United States. The attack came as an immense shock to the Americans and directly led to their involvement in the war.

V.E Day - Victory in Europe Day - marks the formal agreement between the allies of ww2 to accept Nazi Germany's surrender of it's armed forces and war, therefore marking the end of WW2 within Europe.
Adolf Hitler had commited suicide only weeks before (30th of April) the Victory in Europe Day, without his reign and the impending defeat, Nazi Germany agreed to formally propose a millitary surrender. -
In order to hastily put an end to the great World War, U.S President Harry S. Truman order for the new weapon- an atomic bomb, weighing 5 tonnes, to be dropped over Hiroshima, Japan.
Four squares miles of the city were immediately reduced to ruins and 80,000 people instantly killed by the nuclear weapon. -
The Soviet Union officially declared war on Japan, sending in over a million soldiers to Japanses occupied territory, combatting their impressive army.
The dropping of the Hiroshima Atomic bomb did not influence the surrender of Japan that the U.S desired and so the war between them continued, due to the support of the U.S throughout the Second World War, the Soviet Union declare war on Japan. -
The Atomic Bombing of Nagasaki followed the same structure as the Atomic Bombing on Hiroshima and was the last major act during the Second World War. Within days Japanese forces surrendered to the United States and Soviet Union.
