Literacy Timeline

Preschool
In preschool, my teacher would frequently play movies and me being the OCD child, I would constantly clean the playroom and listen in on the movie. -
The Runaway Bunny
When I was younger, Im not exactly sure how old I was, my mom gave me this book. It's one of the first books I remember her reading me. Somewhere in between the 500 times she read it to me I ended up memorizing the book. At random times I would just reading the book from memory. -
First Book
The first book I had ever read out loud was "The Foot Book" by Dr Suess in the first grade. I loved that book for no reason at all, I just loved to read it. I read it to my mom in the car so much she probably could recite it to you. -

Elementary School
I was a big reader in Elementary school, the librarian loved me. Every year I would read "Pickle Juice on a Cookie" once I got to middle school I realized that they didn't have it and I've been upset since. -
Fourth Grade Mock Trial
In 4th grade we did a mock trial, and I was the judge. I had to talk to the court and make sure everyone stayed calm. Everyone got heated after the old man was proven innocent. -

Wax Museum
In 5th grade we did a wax museum over famous people in history, I chose Lizzie Borden. I had memorized this whole page for every time someone would come and press my "button" to listen to me talk about the murderous axe woman. -
Smores Stories
In 6th grade I wrote a smores story and all my writing and reading teachers loved it, they really wanted me to read it that night. Long story short I was really shy and never read it, but Its still in my google drive somewhere. -
Academic Team
A little bit after I wrote my smores story, my teachers wanted me to compete in an academic team meeting. I ended up writing some story in about 45 minutes and taking some humanities test later. I had no idea what I was doing but I ended up placing 2nd for humanities. -
8th Grade History Song
In 8th grade our teacher made us write a song and sing it, me having no vocal talent whatsoever partnered with Gabriella. Not to say I didn't do anything but she basically wrote the song with a little bit of mine and Saylor's opinions and we ended up with an A. Just watching someone write a song in less than 30 minutes was pretty intimidating. -
A Long Walk to Water
In 7th grade I had the worst experience of my life. My teacher made us very very very slowly read a book and analyze every page. A book that was about 180 pages took 6 moths to read and then we had to write an essay over that book but she had to approve it before we could turn it in -
Soccer
My freshman soccer year was one of my best years, just watching the seniors and learning from them. It has made me realize how to play with a team, and it has made me a better player for this year.
