John Locke was born in 1632 in the town of Wrington

1652 Education John Locke began his college career at Oxford.There he studied logic, classical languages and metaphysics during his undergraduate degree, and it was the first time he was exposed to philosophy.

In 1666, he met Lord Anthony Ashley Cooper, 1st Earl of Shaftesbury, who had come to Oxford seeking treatment for a liver infection. Cooper was impressed with Locke and persuaded him to become part of his retinue.

He obtained a bachelor of medicine in 1674, having studied medicine extensively during his time at Oxford.

In 1675 Locke retired in France for health reasons. He would remain there for 4 years

He publishes An Essay Concerning Human Understanding

He died on 28 October 1704, and is buried in the churchyard of the village of High Laver, east of Harlow in Essex,
