The War started when the Archduke Franz and his family was killed by a member of the black hand on his trip to Sarajevo. Then the Austrian-Hungarians accused Serbia of complicity in the murders. and demanded the dismemberment of the state. So on July 28th 1914 Austria Hungary had declared war on Servia. Then the Allied forces started to mobilize thier troops.

"5% years next November" (Fitzgerald 87). Jay Gatsby is talking about how long it has been since he has seen daisy. Gatsby met daisy in 1917 because the book is occuring in the spring of 1922.

They all go into the city for Nick's Birthday. Gtasby and Daisy ride together and Nick, Jordan, and Tom ride together. Diasy drives back and hits and kills Myrtle but everyone thought that Gatsby was driving. ""You two start on home, Daisy," said Tom. "In Mr. Gatsby's car"" (Fitzgerald 135).

Tom tells Wilson that Gatsby was driving the car that killed Myrtle. Wislon assumed that Gatsby was the man who was having an affiar with his wife. Wilson shots Gatsby in his pool and then shots himself.
