About James Longstreet before the war, he was a typical american soldier he started at West Point and work up the ranks and became a lieutenant general. Besides being a military man his whole life Longreet married Maria Garland and had 10 kids. -
Background of the Lousiana Tigers
The Tigers were a volunteer companty raised in New Orleans, they were organized and trained at Camp Moore. A large number of them were foreign born (irish-americans). -

The Tigers fought in the battles of Front Royal, Winchester and Port Republic. They Fought under General Stonewall Jackson. -
More Tiger Battles
In 1863 basically all of the Lousiana regiments were known as the Louisiana Tigers and fought in many battles: Fredricksburg, Second Battle of Winchester, Gettysburg, Rappahannock and the Battle of te Wilderness. The role for them was to basically fill in for all of the casualties in other infantries and help out the best way the could. -
James Longtreet was Shot.
James longstreet in the battle of the Wolderness was badly wounded in the neck and right shoulder. He did not return to action until mid october.
James Longstreet was a lietenat general in the Civil War and my opinion is that he did not effect the battle because he barely took part in it. After he was shot he didnt return until October.
