    The passing of this act outraged the colonists, and they began to riot and threaten with violence.
  • British Troops arive in Boston

    British Troops arive in Boston
    The troops arrived in the colonies to enforce the Kings laws and show that England still had power of the colonies.

    Four workers are shot by British troops. This event is important because it was a wide known act of violence from England against the colonists.
  • Boston Tea Party

    This was a well known act of resistance against Evgland, and has become somewhat iconic.

    Minute Men fire shots at Lexington and Concord, forcing British troops to recede to Boston. This is an important event because it shows the increasing intensity of violence between the colonies and England.

    1776

    1776 was a very eventful year, and important to the war for many reasons. Thomas Pain's "Common ense", which pushed the colonies closer to independance by uniteing them, was published in January. The Declaration of Independance was ratified by congress in December, and Benjamin Franklin was sent to France to attempt to gain them as an ally.

    American and French forces trap Lord Cornwallis and he surrenders his British army. A major win for the colonial army.

    A peace treaty between the United State amd England is signed, ending the revolutionary war.
