  • NATURALIZATION ACT

    ULY 14 - NATURALIZATION ACT OF 1870- CREATED A SET OF RULES FOR THE PROCESS OF NATURALIZING A PERSON FROM A DIFFERENT COUNTRY. ASLO INCLUDES PENALTIES AND FRAUDULENT PRACTICES.
  • CHINESSE EXCLUSION ACT

    MAY 6 1882- CHINESSE EXCLUSION ACT- It was one of the most IMPORTANT RESTRAINTS on free immigration in US history, prohibitED all immigration of Chinese WORKERS.
  • THE GEARY ACT

    APRIL 24 1892- THE GEARY ACT- THIS LAW BASICALLY ADD STRENGTH TO THE CHINESE EXCLUSION ACT.
  • NATURALIZATION ACT

    SEPTEMBER 27- NATURALIZATION ACT OF 1906- revised the law from 1870 and REQUIRED immigrants to learn English in order to become NATURALIZED CITITZENS. . The bill was passed on June 29, 1906, and took effect ON September 27, 1906
  • Immigration Act

    1916-Immigration Act provided for literacy tests for those over 16 and established an "Asiatic Barred Zone," which barred all immigrants from Asia

    1943- The Chinese Exclusion Act is repealed. By the end of the 1940s, all restrictions on Asians acquiring U.S. citizenship are abolished
