  • Cocerning the Increase of Mankind -Benjamin Franklin

    In this article Benjamin Franklin is stating his opinion on all of the German immigrants coming to America. He is afraid that the immigrants coming over to America will exclude our language and manners. He is afraid they will make our nation theirs.
  • Alien Friends Act

    This Act allowed the President to deport an immigrant if he thought they were dangerous, and if the immigrant didn't leave the country, they would be in prison for three years. This Act also allowed the Pesident to lend an immigrant a temporary residency in the USA.
  • New Colossus -Emma Lazarus

    This is the poem eched at the bottom of the Statue of Liberty. This is saying how immigrants should be welcomed in our country and should be able to live free in America.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    This Act exclused Chinese from migrating to America because the government felt threatened by them. If a U.S. citizen was caught bringing a Chinese immigrant into the U.S. they were fined $500 per immigrant brought in or put in prison for over a year.
  • Act on Alien Spouses and Children

    This Act allowed foriegn-born spouses and children of members of the U.S. Armed Forces regardless of their race if they were married before March 19, 1952 to enter America.
  • Secure Fence Act

    Thia Act addressed physical barriers and reinforced advanced technology along the southern U.S. border, and the enforcement of specialized immigrant security in specific areas.
