  • Alien & Sedation Act

    Alien & Sedation Act
    Naturalization act, required residents from 14 years instead of 5 years before they happen to be eligible for U.S. citizenship. The Alien Act (June 25) gave the president the authority to deport aliens that were a threat to the peacetime. Alien Enemies Act (July 6), supported any enemy power alien to be arrested or deported. The Sedition Act (July 14) declared subversive activity could be liable to be punished by by fine and imprisonment.

    The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 rejected Chinese presence in the U.S. Angel Island served as a detention center to control the amount of Chinese entering the country. (date unknown but year 1905)
