    Soviet Expansion into Germany
    Soviet expansion continues rapidly because of America's lack of involvement in the Cold War. Soviet forces invade Germany and offer them aid in return for a communist government. Germany takes the offer.
  • The Soviet Union Invades Poland

    The Soviet Union Invades Poland
    Right after the invasion of Germany, Soviet forces enter Poland. Poland, which has suffered a lot since Hitler's persecution of Jews is in desperate need of aid. The Soviet Union agrees to give Poland that aid if they become a communist country under surveiilance by the Soviets.

    For the first time ever, communist elections are held in Germany, Young politician Helmut Schmidt is elected chancellor of Germany. The Soviets influence the votes so that Germany would be easy to monitor

    Dewey Becomes President
    In the presidential election, Thomas E. Dewey promised that he would make America the most powerful country in the world by ending Soviet expansion. In is presidential campaign, he also promised to increase the standard of living. The election between Dewey and previous president Harry S. Truman was so close that when Dewey did win, one newspaper accidentaly printed "Truman defeats Dewey".

    Dewey Starts the Push
    In one of his first actions as president, Dewey sends troops and advisors to convince the people of Romania, the Soviet Union's next target, not to fall to communism.

    Battle in Romania

    Soviet forces invade Romania and overwhelm America’s forces, forcing them to retreat. Charles Dewey deems this an act of war. Congress denies his plead to declare war against the Soviet Union.

    Europe
    Dewey sends troops and advisors to occupy the area of Europe not under Soviet control. He does this in order to sway the nations to America's side before the Soviets take Control.
  • US Declares War

    US Declares War
    Soviet forces encounter U.S forces in Czechoslovakia. They slaughter all the American troops and advisors there. Dewey and the U.S are shocked. Congress declares war against the Soviet Union.
  • NATO is Created

    NATO is Created
    America signs a treaty with Northern Atlantic Nations in order to combat the Soviet Union's growing influence and size. The treaty is called NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). Some of the countries included are Canada, and Great Britain.

    The battles and bloodshed begin as the forces of NATO start combating the forces of the Soviet Union Europe.
