He began to sit up but just then his blood had dried to the blanket. There was a sharp pain running through Hugh’s body. The skin peeled off of his body just like that. He decided he needed to move out towards Yellowstone Fort which was 200 miles west. He gathered some choke cherries and made himself a crutch from a broken tree limb.

    Moving Out
Hugh glass was able to put very little pressure on his broken leg. He took the crutch made, choke cherries, wolf meat that he found and began his journey to Yellowstone fort. The two men who left him for dead, took his rifle as well. Because of his leg he could only go 8 miles per day. He only traveled at night to avoid the Rees. The Rees were angry Indians that hated anyone who was on their land. My thinking during the section was good luck to him on his journey that was long.

Hugh glass for travel over 270 miles. he had finally came across Henry and his mountain men. Hugh was happy to see them but also very very angry with him. He had asked Henry about where the two men were that had left him behind. Henry said the two men were very unfortunate and were lost along the way. They never caught back up with Henry and his crew. The ending of the book surprised me on how he would live through all the tough situations.
