After 3 weeks of constant bombardement, the British surrendered to George Washington. -
James Madison wrote this to protect the citizens and their beliefs. He is considered the father of the Constitution.

Now the colonists have some form of government and will be able to function as a society. U.S. Constitution is the longest surviving written government.
