    Source During the Sion-Japanease war. Najing the capital of china at the time fell to the Japanese forces. The Chinese government then flees. To break the Chinese spirit, Japanese General Matsui, ordered the butchering of men and the raping of woman of all ages, these victims were all "war prisoners".

    The German Blitzkrieg("Lightning War") was actually a war tactic rather then an event that occurred. As the name implies in English, it was basically an attack that was fast and quick, though repetitive at random times. It was to cause physiological shock, which resulted in a disorganized military.

    Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact
    Source Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact(German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact), as the nickname implies. It was made in order to stop aggression between the Germans and the Soviet Union. It divided the territory so that the spheres of influence could continue.

    The actual nickname for this battle was Battle of France, though it was also the fall of Paris. At the time Paris was where the french government was located. Germany had stormed Paris causing the French government to surrender. Therefore capturing France/Paris.

    During 1941, the Japanese prepared a surprise Arial attack, comprised of Suicide Bombers(Kamikaze), Dive Bombers, and just regular attack planes. Pearl Harbor at the time was a big port for naval ships and created naval ships. The Japanese came and bombed it, leaving the harbor in ruins and destroying most of the foundation there. After the Pearl Harbor bombing USA had entered World War II as a response.

    The Wannsee Conference was a meeting conducted by the Nazi regime, it was held by Reinhard Heydrich, a Nazi official at the time. At the conference they had discussed the "The Final Solution for the Jewish question", which ended up being the annihilation of European Jews.

    The Bataan Death March was the transfer of the Japanese Imperial Amry with the 60,000-80,000 American and Filipino prisoners. The prisoners were forced to march the whole way, even if they were in the worst condition possible. They were forced to march until they die or reach camp, they would then die from disease or starvation. Many of them along the journey were beaten, shot, bayoneted, or beheaded.

    Known as one of the largest seaborne battle, D-Day was code-named Operation Neptune, also known as D-Day. it was an invasion of German Territory to attempt to advance into the German mainland, it was successful but very bloody. The allied had seen this as a good opportunity to strike when really it was a suicide mission because of only 2 cannons. The cannons pointed down the beach at angles allowing them to cover each other and the entire beach. Therefore making it impenetrable.

    The battle of the bulge was an attempt to launch a suprise blitzkrieg against the allied forces in Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. Due to the counteroffensive that the Allied had, the german forces were pushed backed and forced to retreat into another territory. The blitzkrieg was in a wooded area, more of a forest. Making it very hard for the Allied to find.

    Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated, the Liberation of many other camps was soon to follow with this one. This event was very important in the saving of Jewish lives across Europe
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    This was an operation carried out by the United States Marines and the United States Navy. Their goal was to capture the island of Iwo Jima from the imperial Japanese army. The island served as an emergency landing platform for aircraft, mainly B-29 Bombers. Which were huge targets in the war and were always damaged or shot down. So having an emergency landing pad would save many lives.

    Also known as Victory in Europe Day. It was a day that celebrated the unconditional surrender of the European nations including the Allied Nations against the Nazi Regime and Hitler.

    Dropping of the atomic bombs
    Because the japanese would not surrender their territory to the USA, the US had decided to bomb 2 Japanese locations in order to forcefully cause the Imperial Japanese army to surrender. These two location were Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The names of the two bombs were Little Boy and Fat Man, these are nuclear weapons. Little boy was first dropped on Hiroshima, Fat boy was later dropped on Nagasaki. Then the Japanese imperial army surrendered to the US.

    Victory over Japan day, this was the day that the United States celebrated the signing of the formal surrendering documents given to the Japanese Imperial Army.
