    Vaudeville's were something that were popular during this moment of film starting the 21st century. It was 9 to 12 acts with different types of acting. It had a major impact on entertainment later on.

    Movies were normally short, like 15 minutes. Film studios were on the east coast but moved towards the west coast. LA then became the dominant area for film.
  • Silent Movies

    Films were black and white and silent. 1927 the first talking film was created. People had more time to spend on leisure, so by 1929 more Americans were going to the movies on a weekly basis.
  • Musicals

    Musicals
    Two important movies were put out during this time, The Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind. People loved musicals during this time. Also, movies were a bit slow.

    Film was supported by the government, due to the morals it depicted through film. Training videos were created during this time for the army. Movies were accused a lot for war mongering.

    TV broadcasting was becoming the main source of entertainment which made it difficult for films in cinema. It was the decline of box office tickets selling. Production got better though due to draw in audiences.

    A new generation of directors, influenced by European cinema changed American cinema. Influences in cinema ranged very drastically. Bonnie and Clyde was a major hit during this era.

    The early 70s was a hit for crime films. Many films became box office hits due to this. One of which being "The Godfather".

    Films for the youth were big in the 80s. Also sequels were a big thing during this time too. Also the "Brat Pack" was a known group of young actors during this time.

    This era had odd, experimental films that did well. There were many thrillers that came out. Teen movies also had a major benefit.

    Blockbuster and Hollywood Video were major hits in the early 2000s. It was a major hit to rent movies. It transitioned from VHS tapes to DVDs.

    Many people have stated that cinema has declined in the 2010s. In reality people have jumped out of there comfort zones when it comes to cinema in this present decade over the past 8 years now. Many things that people are experiencing they are putting into films.
