On June 15th, 1878 the first film was made using hand drawn pictures being projected onto a large wall or white screen. -
First camera is invented
On September 4th, 1888 the first camera was invented and made and played an important role in the progression of film. -
First comedy made
In 1895 the first comedy film was produced and directed by a french man. The name of the film was called The Waterer Watered or The Sprinkler Sprinkled. -
First action film released
The first action film was released in 1903 and it was called the Great Train Robbery and lasted approximately thirteen minutes. -
First animated cartoon
In 1906 the first animated cartoon was released by a french man and the cartoon consisted of 700 hand drawn images illuminated in front of a glass plate. -
First movie stunt
In 1910 the first movie stunt was performed and the stunt was a man jumping into the Hudson river in order to escape a flaming hot air balloon. -
Warners Bros. is established
On April 4th, 1923 the Warner Brothers were established and since then they have grown in popularity and have created many iconic cartoon characters along the way. -
First film with sound
On October 6th, 1927 the first film with sound was released and marked the end for the silent film era. -
Technicolor is invented
On June 4th, 1929 technicolor was invented and/or patented then released to the general film industry and in which marked the end of the black and white era. -
First colour television broadcast
On November 3rd, 1953 the first colour television broadcast was made and it finally ended the black and white era for good and in addition to that it introduced the colours of the outside world to the audience of the television. -
The Godfather
On March 24th, 1972 the movie The Godfather was released and it was the first real hour + long movie released during its time. -
Toy Story
On November 22nd, 1995 the movie Toy Story was released by Disney and Pixar and the movie depicted a toy's adventures through the real world after his owner brings home a new toy called "Buzz Lightyear" and the older toy's jealousy builds and mixed feelings appear through out the movie but after a while the older toy "Woody" finally starts to warm up to "Buzz" and they become friends and blah blah blah happy ending because Disney movie.
