    Eadweard Muybridge
    Kate Larrigan is filmed by Eadweard Muybridge. She is tap dancing for the film Tate Britain in London one night. This was part of thw Animal Locomotion series.
  • The Ensitized Celluloid base

    The Ensitized Celluloid base
    George Eastman and Hannibal Goodwin both invented the ensitized celluloid base roll which replaced the glass in use. George Eastman called it the Kodak Camera. Hannibal Goodwin files a patent application for camera film on the celluloid rolls.
  • The Haunted Castle

    The Haunted Castle
    A 3 minute horror and comedy film was released. It was based on a bat who transforms throughout the short film. The bat then summons witches, demons, and skeletons. This film is known as one of the best films of the 1980's
  • The Close Up Shot

    The Close Up Shot
    D. W. Griffith invented the first close up shot. Films such as As Seen Through a Telescope and Grandma's Reading Glass had close ups. This was the first time a long/wide shot was not used throughout the whole film.
  • Credits

    Credits
    By 1910 actors began to receive screen credit for their roles. This introduced "film credits" to the end of movies. This also had actors thrown into the celebrity culture.

    Theaters were charging 25 cents to get into a theater. The theater was an escape for americans, a place where they could lose themselves in another world. Charlie Chaplin was the star of film industry during this time.
  • Wizard of Oz

    earning only $3,017,000 on a $2,777,000 budget, this was the most expensive film of its time. It has been nominated for six academy awards and is an american icon film. The film was placed in Kansas and was an amazing fairytale.
  • The Green Screen

    The Green Screen was invented during this time. The Green Screen was originally a Blue Screen and allowed for backgrounds to not be present. Essentially anything could be displayed on the background with a Green Screen.
  • Hand-held camera

    The hand held camera was used for lighter and more efficient camera equipment. The film Les Raquetteurs, was shot on 35 mm by Michel Brault. This was a major breakthrough during this time.
  • Bonnie and Clyde

    Bonnie and Clyde
    The gangsta movie, which was one of the best movies of the time was one to remember. Bonnie and Clyde were based on real crooks from Brooklyn. Americans were reborn when this movie was made and still known as a classic to this day.
  • Star Wars

    Star Wars
    George Lucas is the creator of one of the most famous movies ever made known as "Star Wars". Stars Wars generated $775 million in revenue which was more than Jaws and surpassed Jaws as the highest grossing film of all time. Stars Wars is also the third highest grossing film in the whole world.

    The Shining
    The shining was based on a Stephen King book made 3 years prior. This movie is based on Jack, an aspiring writer who chooses to overlook a hotel in colorado during winter. He turns the movie into a horror movie when he starts going insane and tries to kill his kid and wife. Amazing movie 10/10.
