    King Hamlet of Denmark and King Fortinbras go to war

  • Death of King Fortinbras

    King Hamlet kills King Fortinbras, ending the war.

  • Death of King Hamlet

    King Hamlet dies.

  • Claudius becomes the new king of Denmark

    Claudius, King Hamlet's brother and prince Hamlet's uncle, becomes the new King of Denmark.

  • Gertrude marries Claudius

    Gertude, King Hamlet's widow, remarries to Claudius.

  • Prince Fortinbras' attempt to attack Denmark is foiled

    Prince Fortinbras' attempt to attack Denmark is stoped by Norways new King.

  • King Hamlet's ghost is first spoted

    The night gurads on the palace ramparts see the ghostly figure of King Hamlet.

  • Laertes is given permission to go to school in France

    Laertes is given permission to go to school in France from both Claudius and Polonius.

  • Hamlet is forced to stay in Denmark

    Claudius and Gertrude convince Hamlet yo stay in Denmark against his will, when he really wants to go back to school in England.

  • Horatio sees the Ghost

    Horatio is shown the ghost by the palace guards and deciceds to show Prince Hamlet.

  • Prince fortinbras' attacks Poland

    Prince Fortinbras' asks permission to go through Denmark to attack Poland, and recieves it.

  • Horatio tells Prince hamlet about the ghost

    Horatio tells Prince Hamlet about the ghost. This gets Hamlet to decide to try and see it himself that same night.

  • King Hamlet is revealed to be murded

    The ghost of King Hamlet talks to Prince Hamlet and tells hm that Claudius put poison in King Hamlet's ear and that is what killed him. Hamlet delcares he will take revenge.

  • Hamlet puts on his "antic disposition"

    Gets everyone who knows to swear not to tell anyone what happened that night.

  • Polnius gives adive to his children

    Polonius gives Laertes encouraging advice but gives Ophelia advice in a condesending way. Laertes has left for France.

  • Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are summoned to spy on Hamlet

  • Hamlet acts crazy in front of Ophelia

    This makes Polonius belive that Haamlet has gone crazy becuase Ophelia rejected his love.

  • Hamlet realize he is being spyed on

    So he plays along with being depressed in front of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. He also changes a few lines in a play that is to be played before the king to test the king's guilt.

  • Claudius and Polonius use Ophelia to spy on Hamlet behind an arras

    Hamlet knows this and tries to insult women in gernal as well as Ophelia.

  • Claudius reveals his guilt

    Claudius reveals this by his reaction to the play

  • Claudius plans to send Hamlet away to England

    During this time he tries to pray to ease his guilt.

  • Hamlet can't kill Claudius

    Hamlet can't kill Claudius because when he sees Claudius praying he doesn't want to send him to heaven.

  • Polonius spys on Hamlet in Gertrude's bedroom

  • Polonius is killed by Hamlet

    Polonius is killed from his hiding place behind the arras in Gertrude's room. Hamlet isn't sorry for his death but would have perfered him to be claudius instead.

  • Gertrude is on Hamlet's side

    After verbally ripping into her Hamlet gets Gertrude to side with him and not Claudius. Gertrude promises to keep his secret. Hanlet leaves with Polonius' body and hides it.

  • Gertrude reports in Polonius' death to Claudius

    But she keeps Hamlet's secret. Claudius wants Polonius' body found.

  • Hamlet reveal's where he hide Polonius' body

  • Claudius plans to send Hamlet to England and have him killed there

  • Hamlet sees how Fortinbras avengers his father and wants to be more like him

  • Ophelia has gone crazy

    The repeated blows on both her heart and brain, hamlet's madness, and Hamlet's murder of her father, are to much for her and she goes crazy.

  • Laertes swears to avenge both his father's death and his sisters crazyness

    Laertes initally blames Claudius but is convinced that Hamlet is the one who needs to be the target of his revenge.

  • Hamlet is revaled to be back in Denmark

    Hamlet was taken back to Denmark after his ship was attacked by pirates. Rosencrantz anmd Guildenstern are still on track to England

  • Laertes amd Claudius plan Hamlet's murder

  • Ophelia is dead

    She drown without trying to escape.

  • Hamlet gets back to the castle just in time find out Ophelia is dead

    Hamlet reveals that he truely did love Ophelia.

  • Hamlet and Laertes duel

    gertrude is killed by the king's plan to poison the wine. Laertes reveals that this was partly his fault and asks for forgiveness. Laertes also revaeals that the blade that scrathed both Hamlet and himself was poisoned and that they will die.

  • Claudius is killed

    After Laertes says that he was behind it all, Hamlet stabs claudius and forces poison down his throat. Both Laertes and Claudius die.

  • Hamlet dies

    As Hamlet dies he tells Hpratio to tell his story and that Fortinbras should be made king.

  • Fortinbras comes to the palace and is made King

    After finding the horror in the palace Fortinbras becomes king becuase he is closest in line now and Hamlet recomneded him.
