    This act outlawed discrimination of color in the workplace and other public areas. This gave an increased power to federal government to prosecute anyone that abuses civil rights of another.
  • Tax Reduction Act

    Tax Reduction Act

    Bipartisan tax cut bill that cut corporate and individual taxes to stimulate growth. Cut to approximately 20%
  • Medicare Act

    Medicare Act

    The Medicare Act created Medicare and Medicaid programs. These programs provided and still provide today, health insurance to elderly people over 65 and anyone with a low income that need it.
  • Water Quality Act

    Water Quality Act

    Required states to clean and improve the quality of their rivers. Authorized Federal Water Pollution Control Administration to take control in areas that failed to do so.
  • Elementary and Secondary Education Act

    Elementary and Secondary Education Act

    Provided schools with money for things like books and other special materials needed for education. Helped give financial support to students that needed it. Updated version of this act is still around today, and funds schools that need it.
  • Truth in Packaging Act

    Truth in Packaging Act

    Set standards for labeling economic and consumer goods. Required labels to state what is inside a product and where it was made. This is still around today.
