    The Spanish were then followed by the British with the settlement of the Plymouth Company.

    The first happening of the French immigration in North America was actually in 1534, however they never permanently settled until 1604 on an island which is now apart of Maine. However, this island was greatly ill, and they made a more permanent home in Quebec in 1608.
