  • Club Penguin

Club Penguin had launched in 2005 (Wikimedia Foundation, 2024), and I grew up playing it from a young age due to influence from my older sibling. It was my first experience playing a MMO genre type of game. I had found it accommodating to play due to various game features, such as character customization, points to earn and spend, achievements, pets and home systems.

  • Mancala

I had originally learnt about mancala from Club Penguin, although in 2015 I had gone to Malacca for a school trip and played it physically. Mancala is a turn-based strategy board game played with small stones, beans, or marbles and two rows of holes in a board or similar playing surface (Wikimedia Foundation, 2024). It was fun as a strategy game, as the rules were unique from other games.

  • Identity V

The game was published by Chinese company Netease during 2018, as a free-to-play asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game (Wikimedia Foundation, 2024). I found it quite enjoyable despite server issues with lag. The mechanics built on team effort with a collective goal was interesting, and the aesthetics of the game was also quite shiny and crafty with their themes.

  • Sky: Children of the Light

Sky is a social adventure game by thatgamecompany, released on 2020 (Wikimedia Foundation, 2024). From a suggestion, I had played through the events and various maps since 2021. I found the visuals and story to be breathtaking, enjoying the sights and story of what each realm had to offer. This game has often inspired me in concepts regarding world-building.

  • Taiko no Tatsujin

I've been playing Taiko no Tatsujin as a musical rhythmic drum arcade game since I was young, which I rarely found chances to play after migrating for my studies. In my recent years, I had found chances to enjoy playing Taiko once more. There is a wide variety of music and difficulties in the arcade machine, and it is always a joy to play with others.
