    Henry Clerval was the son of a merchant of Geneva and became Victor's best friend. He loved enterprise and hardship. When he came to Ingolstadt to study he took care of Victor while he was ill. (pg.37)

    When Victor was 15 years old he witnessed lightning burning a tree and from then becomes very interested in the study of science and the world. He starts reading the works of Cornelius Agrippa, Albertus Magnus, and Paracelsus.

    Before Victor leaves for Ingolstadt, Elizabeth catches the scarlet fever and becomes very ill. So, Victor's mom takes care of her until she is healthy but she dies since she catches the illness. (pg.42)

    Once Victor arrives he meets his professors and one of them, M. Krempe tells him that everything he has read has been a waste of his time so he works hard and reads the books of the philosophers that he recommends Victor.     Once he plans his experiment, Victor ventures into a churchyard and gathers body parts for the person that he is going to create. He is amazed at human decay and their anatomy. (pg.50-51)

    As Mr. Frankenstein starts working day and night on his experiment he stops interacting with his family and friends. He grows increasingly isolated and doesn't eat very much.

    From the beginning of the story to the finished product of the experiment, Victor's attitude greatly changes. He goes from being a very happy and fortunate person to living in despair and sadness because of the monster that he has created. Throughout his young life, he was lucky to have a caring and compassionate family but as he got older many bad things happened like the death of his mom.

    During this time Victor continues to suffer from guilt since he knows that Justine was wrongly accused but still doesn't say anything as he would then be labeled insane. Victor also finds peace in nature and once while he goes to the mountains he meets the monster. Victor doesn't run away because he wants to know if he caused William's murder and the monster explains all that he has gone through since he abandoned him.

    He finds them while searching for food and wood and he discovers more about the world and about his emotions. He also discovers that he is very lonely and that he is in the need of a companion. (pg.122)

    Since the monster notices that everyone he meets immediately thinks he is a demon he decides to follow what they think. For example, when he saves the girl from falling in the river the dad shoots him because he thought that he was hurting her. (pg.134-135)

    Since the monster is very lonely he decides to find Victor so he can build him a companion. He tries to convince victor by telling him that he will not do anymore bad things. (pg.139)

    While traveling Henry falls in love with the beauty of nature in these places but Victor can't because he is troubled with the thought of having to build another monster. Victor remembers his old self in Henry when he was stress free and had no troubles. (pg.147)

    During these chapters, Frankenstein continues to grieve the deaths of Justine and William which leads him to become even more depressed. He also becomes very anxious because he has to create a companion for the monster. This nervousness doesn't allow him to fully see the beauty of nature while traveling with Henry.

    He gets really angry at the monster because he knows that he caused this. He also gets scared that he could kill another family member at any minute.

    Victor finally gets to marry his childhood love and for a few hours he is happy. But then he gets anxious because the monster said he would be present the day of his wedding night.

    Victor is determined to find the monster and kill him in order to seek revenge because he caused so much harm to the people he loved.     At the end of the novel, Victor becomes full of anger against the monster and wants to seek revenge against him for all the harm that he has caused. He is still depressed over the deaths of his family members and friends and still becomes anxious every time he thinks of the monster, since he fears he could be anywhere Victor is at.
