    The Sugar Act was an import tax on sugar and Molassas.

    Imposed first direct tax on the American Colonies. It was to keep from getting in worse debt because of the French and Indian War.

    This act was made to force American colonies to provide food and shelter for British troops.
  • The Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act, also known as, The American Colonies Act, was to help repeal the Stamp Act, and help lessening or changing the Sugar Act of 1764.

    The Townshend Acts

    Series of acts passed by the British Parliment thoughtout the summer of 1767. Many American Colonists were not too happy about all the acts being passed, especially if they were made to pay taxes.
