    Civil Rights Act

    Declared all people born in the United States were now citizens in the United States. This came about because citizenship by birth did not depend on their race.

    The Fourteenth Amendment

    This was also known as the joint committee. Senate granted the state citizenship as well as the civil rights statue.
  • 1865 BCE

    39th Congress

    Started its first season in December. This was when white states restricted the rights of their former slaves.
  • 1860 BCE

    Republican Party Won

    Abraham Lincoln as the leader, the Republican Party had won the rivalry to obtain the White House. This is when Lincoln's Administration took position that freed the blacks.
  • 1857 BCE

    Dred. Scott v. Sanford

    This was a supreme's court decision. Where slaves were held at their master's estate under their jurisdiction of the federal courts.
