  • Chinese Revolution

    Chinese Revolution
    (1946-1950) The United States and the nationalist were involved. The communist takeover mainland China and people’s republic of China established in mainland China. This was the second part of the civil war.
  • Korean War

    Korean War
    (June 25th 1950- July 27th 1953) The United State, North Korea, South Korea, and China were all involved with the Korean War. United Nations invasion on North Korea repelled. Chinese with North Korean invasion on South Korea repelled also. Result is North Korea gains city of Kaesong. Both sides gain little border.
  • Uprising of Hugary and Czechoslovakia

    Uprising of Hugary and Czechoslovakia
    (October 23rd 1956 to November 11th 1956) The Soviet Union and the state protection were involved with Hungary and Czechoslovakia. It was the revolt against the people’s republic of Hungary. Was a major threat since the USSR’s drove out the Nazi’s in world war two. With the uprising it soon made an impact in the downfall of Soviet Union. In result of this the soviet victory and the revolution is crushed.
  • Sputnik Launch

    Sputnik Launch
    (October 4th, 1957) The Soviet Union changed history and launched sputnik one. Sputnik was an success before coming back to the earth’s atmosphere it orbit the earth for three months before running out of batteries. The United States supported the funding for the next satellite to be put into space.
  • U-2 Spy Plane

    U-2 Spy Plane
    (May 1st 1960) The United States and the Soviet Union was involved with this. The Soviet Union was the one who shot the plane in defense. They shot down a U.S. spy plane that was spying on the Russian military base. They found surviving pilot Francis Gary Powers and found pictures of the military base. This was a big embarrassment for the United States.

    Berlin Wall Goes Up
    (August 16 1961) The German governments were the ones who built the wall. The wall was to protect people from fascist elements of the “will of people”. It wasn’t the best of wall lots of people climbed up and got over the wall. A lot of people started to try to break the wall they chipped away at the wall trying to get through it.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    (October 12-28 1962) The United States, Turkey, and Italy were involved in the Cuban missile crisis. The U.S. placed Cuban missile in Turkey, aimed at Moscow. They sent a spy plane over the grounds of Cuba and found two nuclear missiles with this the U.S. considered to attack Cuba. The result was Soviet Union and the United State withdrew their nuclear missiles. The U.S. agreed with the Soviet Union to never invade Cuba without provocation.
  • Russia Invade Afghanistan

    Russia Invade Afghanistan
    (December 24, 1979 – February 15, 1989) The Soviet Union and Afghanistan were involved with this event. The battle lasted nine years it was part of the cold war. The result of the battle was the Soviet Union withdrew and left Afghanistan but the Afghan civil war continues.
