An amendment to the previous acts were passed stating that if soldiers were not given suitable quarters to stay in then the governor would have the authorty to house soldiers in other buildings,such as: barns, inns, among other unoccupied structures.

The Quebec Act was seen by the colonists as a new model for British colonial administration. Colonist feared it would strip them of their elected assemblies, and promote the Roman Catholic faith in preference to widely-held Protestant beliefs.
