  • Quartering act passed

    Colonial assemblies required to pay for supplies to British garrisons. The New York assembly argued that it could not be forced to comply.
  • Grenville acts passed by parliament

    The Grenville acts were named after George Grenville an consisted of;
    Molasses taxed six pence per gallon
    Sugar act made to raise Briatains revenue
  • Currency act passed

    The currency act was put into play by the British to make sure the colonist didnt make their own currencyas a sign of seperation
  • Stamp act is passed

    A tax placed on all legal documentation.
  • Virginian resolution

    Written conclusion that some of the laws passing were unconstitutional
  • Declaratory act passed

    An act repealing the stamp act of 1765 and lessens the sugar act.
  • Townshend act is passed

    The Townshend act also known as the Revenue act was a tax on paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea.
    Named after Charles townshend.
    Replacement for the Stamp act. due to the Stamp act's boycotts British Officials Believed if they taxed items not found in the colonies then the colonist would pay them.
  • Wrists of assistance is put into place

    The Writts of assistance says that anyone had the right to search anywhere for smuggled goods anytime as long as it was in favor of the king
  • Boston Massacre

    Citezens Screaming at British men near the barracks to fire. And hits a soldier who fires and everyone in the line fires twice before the commander waits to see the white of his men's eyes 5 men died in a week time period from musket wounds.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Colonists protested against the taxes by dressing up as indians and throwing tea in the harbor which later caused British soldiers to take places in homes and many punishing laws in Boston

    Continental congress's first meeting ended.
