    The 1992 Los Angeles riots was going on for many years of repeated tensions between the LAPD and the cities African Americans with a recording of beating of Rodney King. April 29, 1992 tensions arise when the four LAPD officers were found not guilty of assaulting the King. One of the worst case of domestic violence in history in which Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols apart of white nationalist groups killed 168 and injuring more than 600 citizens.     This 2000 election was one of the closest elections in American history. Neither Bush or Gore had the number of electoral votes. With "red states" for republican and "blue states" for Democratic states. With Florida being the last to be colored after weeks, Floridas voted favor republican.     A terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 in which islamic extremists successfully destroyed the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. A series of airline Hijackings done by 19 terrorists. Nearly 3,000 people were killed and countless of people were injured.     The No Child Left Behind Act updated the Elementary and Secondary education act to provide more education opportunities for all students. This included student equality in color and poverty. It also allowed for students to receive special education services and helped students who didn't understand much english.     Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast being a category 5 storm. Caused massive damage from Texas to Central Florida. It was the most expensive natural disaster in American History The damage estimated at $108 billion. This horrific storm also killed 1,833 people. This hurricane left many places understaffed and lacked supplies like food water and no power. Americans were devastated by the dead bodies in the streets and was overall a nightmare.
