Bill Clinton is known as the 42nd president of the United States. This was a surprise victory because he defeated George W. Bush who was a well-known Republican, as well as Ross Perot. Bill Clinton was a tremendously influential president, as he demonstrated what true economic development looks like. This goes hand in hand with what his campaign focused on. A notable part regarding his term as president is that Democrats outnumbered Republicans in the House 285 to 176. (Kruse and Zeilzer, 205). -
The "Storm of the Century" was one of the most powerful mid-latitude storms ever recorded in the Eastern United States. The Oklahoma City Bombing occurred in 1995, killing 168 people and injuring 600 more. This bombing was known as a domestic terrorist attack that struck a Federal Building in the city, and was in result of a fuel oil bomb. This made it known that there was a substantial rise in white hate groups, specifically in the mid-1990s. Oklahoma became more conscious of the damage terrorists can have not only on a place but people as well due to this attack. (Kruse and Zeilzer, 220-221) -

Clinton was not only suspected to be having an affair with Lewinsky but also acting inappropriately toward other women. (Kruse and Zeilzer, 226-227). -
The presidential election of 2000 was widely regarded as the closest in American history. George Bush was the first president since 1888 to be defeated in the national popular vote. The election was held between George W. Bush (Republican) and Al Gore (Democratic). After the presidential election of 2000, the United States map mainly consisted of Republican states, which is why Bush won the election. (Kruse and Zeilzer, 239) -
In 2001, there was an international campaign to battle global HIV/AIDS. Early in Bushes' presidency, it appeared that he would take the lead in a retreat as a result of the fight against AIDS. The nation noticed his leadership as everything he did for this disease reflected on the type of person he was. (Kruse and Zeilzer, 263). -
The September 11th attack is a commonly known suicidal terrorist attack that affected thousands. This attack wiped off the country's imperfections and confidence. This attack not only injured adults and children, but also first responders who placed their lives at risk to help. As my father is a New Rochelle Firefighter, they were the first responding unit outside of New York City to approach the scene. This demonstrates how many people were involved in this awful day. (Kruse and Zeilzer, 243). -
