Clinton won 43% of the popular vote and a large portion of the Electoral College. A massive cyclonic storm that formed on the eastern coast of the United States, nearly half of the United States population. The storm caused approximately $5.5 billion in damages. It developed different weather patterns including; heavy snowfall, tornadoes, and coastal flooding in the matter of three days. (Superstorm of 1993, National Weather Service) -
The Waco siege was by United States government of a compound that held a religious cult, Branch Davidians. The leader of the cult, David Koresh, held illegal weapons within the compound. Texas law enforcement were granted a search and arrest warrant for Koresh and many other members. The Waco, Texas compound was destroyed in a fire, killing 80 people within the building. Bill Clinton was put on impeachment trial by the House of Representative, charging with him lying under oath to a federal jury. Clinton was convicted of having an affair with Monica Lewinsky, an intern who was working in the White House. The encounters happened within the White House and were ultimately discovered by the public. Clinton is the second president to be impeached during their time in office. (Kruse and Zelizer, 227). -
Before the year 2000 came, there was a scare that there would be a problem in the the computer systems coding. The scare was going from the year 1999 to 2000. This problem was thought to bring havoc in computer networks all around the world. Since the internet was a new invention, people believed the software failure would cause eras in banking and government records. It turned out that nothing did happen when the year turned over. Bush announced to the United States that we would be contributing about $200 million help support the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS. This money would also be contributed towards Malaria and Tuberculosis at a later date (June 2002). As AIDS was becoming a more dominant disease at this time, Bush wanted to help as much as he can to help support those who were infected. (Kruse and Zelizer, 263) -

The event that changed the world. An Islamic extremist group hijacked four airplanes which eventually hit major monumental buildings including the twin towers of the World Trade Center. The four airplanes held suicide pilots within to specifically hitting the twin towers, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people were killed during the attack and triggered terrorism within the United States. (Kruse and Zelizer, 243) -
Hurricane Katrina was a category-5 hurricane, which was an extremely powerful and large storm. It caused an enormous amount of devastation to the people living in the most effected areas. The aftermath of damage led to flooding and many people were concerned that the government was not going to meet the needs of the people after the storm. The storm caused more than $100 billion in damage repairs. (Kruse and Zelizer, 280)
